New Rising Star Goes For The Gould!

Recently, the UK scene has been buzzing about OKAMI vs. Josh Gould for the Valiant World Championship. We here at TIC are here to give you a little bit of insight into the history and career of "The Heart of Gould" Josh Gould.

Oak Park native Jamal Gould was and still is an avid fan of wrestling, discovering his love and passion for the industry at a very young age. Beginning his career much like many other wrestlers by moving from promotion to promotion on the American independent circuit, Gould would eventually become known for his innovative offense necessitated by his dominative stature. Taking inspiration from wrestlers like Ryan Giovanni and Darren Dastardly he would establish himself as a true student of the game building his name on the American circuit by adapting what he learned from studying these legends of the industry constructing a style all of his own.

Gould had just recently returned from his tour in Mexico comprised of a series with Kid Tiger when he was approached about a future title shot for Valiant World Championship against current champion OKAMI. Using his time in Mexico to study the Lucha Libre style of wrestling and blending the high-flying flair of the wrestling style with his own profound technicality, a blend which was on full display during his match with OKAMI (full review coming soon).

His finishing move, ‘The Golden Lock’, is a variation of the Manji Gatame makes use of the entirety of his small frame to submit his opponent. While he was unsuccessful in his match against OKAMI he managed to capture the attention of companies including True-1 Pro who our sources say offered him a contract to become apart of their active roster. Time will tell if he accepts but his management team informed us that he is heavily considering the offer.

Nonetheless, we suggest that you keep an eye out for Gould as he just may prove himself the pioneer in a whole new crop of wrestling talents.
